247 athlete: JAKE DEARDEN

247 to me isn’t just a clothing brand. It’s a lifestyle. I wear the gear all the time, I train at the 247 gym, surrounded friends and with everyone behind the brand, represented at every event."

WHO IS JAKE DEARDEN

My name's Jake Dearden. I am a 247 athlete, redbull athlete and head coach of the 247 Gym. Jake is an ELITE 15 HYROX athlete has put his name far out into the endurance running scene.

Jake is foundational to 247 and the team that surround it.

Jake's philosophy centers on training as much as you can recover from, and he emphasises that every aspect of Hybrid sports matters, so athletes shouldn't neglect any element of the sport.

JAKE DEARDEN: RECOVERY

Sleep as much as possible:

- This isn't negotiable. Your body does its best work while you're asleep. If you're serious about performance, you need to be equally serious about sleep. Aim for 8-9 hours minimum. It's not lazy, it's strategic

Hydrate - at least 4-5L of water per day:

- Dehydration kills performance before you even realize it's happening. I'm talking 4-5 litres daily, more if you're training hard or in the heat.

Stretch & Foam roll:

- Mobility work isn't optional. Tight muscles don't perform, and they're far more prone to injury. Spend 10-15 minutes daily on foam rolling and stretching - hit your quads, hip flexors, calves, and anywhere that feels restricted.

Warm up properly:

- A proper warm-up primes your body for what's coming. Get your heart rate up, get your joints moving through their full range. Five minutes of focused warm-up can be the difference between a PB and a pulled muscle.

Strength train to prevent injuries:

- Focus on compound movements, single-leg work, and posterior chain development.

Go into events being as prepared as possible:

- Use your team. Nobody achieved anything great alone. Behind every athlete there a team, and I’m grateful for mine. Mental preparation is just as important, visualise the race and anticipate the tough moments.

PART OF THE 247 TEAM:

"I’m honoured to say I’m part of the 247 team of athletes. Each 247 athlete is a role model to me. Which motivates me to do my best in the events and challenges I attempt."

- Jake Dearden
